Best Workplaces in Advertising & Marketing

Published together with our partner, Fortune, the Best Workplaces in Advertising & Marketing is a “best of the best” ranking. The winners come from the universe of companies who are certified this year by Great Place To Work® as great workplaces and have published Great Place To Work Reviews, meaning they are serious about creating a great workplace and comfortable with transparency. We’ll consider the number of companies with published Reviews, who have self-identified as being in the Advertising & Marketing industry, and we’ll look at the employees feedback from these companies who have completed Great Place To Work’s renowned Trust Index© Employee Survey and answered 58 questions about how frequently they experience the behaviors that create a great workplace. These surveys result in a total score for each company based entirely upon employee feedback. The Great Place To Work® Best Workplaces in Advertising & Marketing 2016 ranking includes the companies with the highest total scores.

Best Workplaces for Camaraderie

Published together with our partner, Fortune, the Best Workplaces for Camaraderie is a “best of the best” ranking. The winners come from the universe of Great Place To Work®-Certified great workplaces. Nearly 600 companies are currently certified and have public workplace reviews, reflecting the opinions of over 255,200 employees who were randomly selected to complete Great Place To Work’s Trust Index© Employee Survey. Employees answered questions about how frequently they experience the behaviors that create a great workplace. Companies achieving the highest overall results in their size categories were then ranked based on employees’ feedback regarding the quality of the personal connections they experiences with colleagues, taking into account: how comfortable people feel being themselves; how friendly, cooperative and fun the workplace is; and the strength of its teams. Results from the survey are highly reliable, having a 95 percent confidence level and a margin of error of 5 percent or less. The total score for each company is based entirely upon employee feedback.

Best Workplaces to Retire From

Published together with our partner, Fortune, the Best Workplaces to Retire From is a "best of the best" ranking. The winners come from the universe of companies who are certified this year by Great Place To Work® as great workplaces and have published Great Place To Work Reviews, meaning they are serious about creating a great workplace and comfortable with transparency.

To create this list, Great Place To Work® surveys current employees who answer a detailed questionnaire considering everything from how fairly they are treated in the workplace, to the quality of the company's compensation and benefits, and how long they wish to be part of the organization. Employees rate their companies on 58 questions total, including an overall assessment of whether the company is a great place to work.

To select the list, Great Place To Work considers those companies who provide generous retirement benefits and best support employees nearing retirement age. The final ranking from among these companies is based on survey feedback from employees nearing retirement age.

World’s Best Multinational Workplaces 2016

Since 2011, Great Place To Work has identified the top organizations that create great workplaces in all of the countries in which they operate through the publication of the World’s Best Multinational Workplaces list. To be considered eligible for the multinational list, companies must meet our definition of a Multinational Company and appear on a minimum of 5 national best workplaces lists that rank organizations based on the results of their Trust Index© employee survey and Culture Audit© assessment. (to qualify in the United States, we look at winners of the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For® list). The results of those national lists, in addition to extra points awarded for the number of countries an organization surveyed employees in, and the percentage of the company’s global workforce represented by those surveys, are combined to create a top 25 ranking.

Candidates for the list must have a minimum of 5,000 employees worldwide, and 40% of their workforce (or 5,000 employees) must be based outside of the country in which they are headquartered. Candidates for the 2016 World’s Best Multinational Workplaces list will have appeared on national workplaces lists published in September 2015 through August 2016.

Best Workplaces for Flexibility

Published together with our partner, Fortune, the Best Workplaces for Flexibility is a “best of the best” ranking. The winners come from the universe of companies who are certified this year by Great Place To Work® as great workplaces and have published Great Place To Work Reviews, meaning they are serious about creating a great workplace and comfortable with transparency.

To create this list, Great Place To Work® surveys current employees who answer a detailed questionnaire considering everything from the support their employer shows for people's lives outside work, the flexibility they have to take time off, the degree of trust management shows for independent work, and the extent to which employees have the communication and resources they need to work effectively. Employees rate their companies on 58 questions total, including an overall assessment of whether the company is a great place to work.

To select the list, Great Place To Work considers those companies with formal programs offering flexible schedules, compressed workweeks, job sharing and telecommuting opportunities to the largest share of their employees. The final ranking from among these companies is based on employees' feedback on all 58 survey questions, with special emphasis on those survey statements reflecting employers' support for employees' personal lives and independent, effective work.
