IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING GREAT PLACE TO WORK® SERVICES

Dear Great Place To Work® Reviews Clients,

November, 2015

We are proud of the Reviews platform we have built for you, and one of our businesses most important objectives is elevating the value it provides you.

With that being said – we have spent the year analyzing our client’s feedback, developing our strategy, and re-thinking, re-designing, and newly integrating our online experience. In order to improve our service to you and exponentially expand the reach of our social mission to change the world by creating great workplaces, we are excited to introduce our new program:

The newly integrated Recognition Program:

Introducing Great Place To Work® Certification

This is possibly the biggest new opportunity, that we think you’ll be the most excited about (we are!)

Now, all companies that hit a minimum Trust Index© employee survey threshold, where 7 out of 10 employees share positive responses will receive a Great Place To Work® Certification and a Review that’s valid for 12 months. This is essentially the program you are already enrolled in – but with greater significance.

This badge will assist your efforts to tell the world you are a great workplace – place it on your:

  • website
  • retail windows
  • recruitment brochures
  • investor reports

Essentially anywhere that you want to display the amount of pride and trust your employees have!

We’ve made this change after analyzing macro-trends for investors1, employees2 and consumers3 indicating the need for a greater amount of data on companies with great workplace cultures.

What does this change mean for you?

Review = Certification: Beginning on the next survey cycle, only companies that hit our Certification threshold of 7 /10 positive employee survey results will be given a Certification + Review on our website. Your current review will remain active for the duration of your subscription with no change. The good news – when it comes time to renew – is that given our current audience, 8/10 of you hit that benchmark!

Improved Reports: We have designed our new reports to deliver greater insight, leading to greater culture improvement at your company – with data-driven focus areas and best practice examples.

And we have faith that through our new Feedback report – and with some leadership commitment – the Certification figure of our current audience can become 10/10. See our new packages here

Our mission together is to bring this message and process out to the broader business community and encourage adoption. This strategic shift from a mere “Review” to a Great Place To Work® Certification represents a badge of honor – awarded by the world experts – and is only one step away from being recognized as the “best of the best” on one of our Best Workplaces lists.

Many of the things you are familiar with will remain the same. Your last year’s Culture Audit© data will be available to you mapped to the new Culture Brief™ format once you log in to the website. Your login information will remain the same as last year. And as always, we protect the integrity of your employee’s responses and company information with the utmost care

We are giving time back to you with no more Culture Audit© (except for Fortune® 100 Best)

Many of you only fill out a Culture Brief™ today, for our Reviews site, but for those of you who have filled out the Culture Audit© for a list competition – get ready for good news.

We mentioned this change to some of our SMB conference attendees in Seattle last month and we got a Hallelujah in response! We are doing away with the Culture Audit© for all small and medium sized companies, and most large companies (over 1,000). Now, only large companies who hit a minimum Trust Index© survey threshold will be asked to complete the longer Culture Audit© if they want to compete for the Fortune 100 Best list. Everyone else will submit a Culture Brief™ (a drastically shorter submission – just a few hours if you have all the information accessible).

More Best Workplace lists = more benchmarks compared to your peers!

We now publish over a dozen lists of the Best Workplaces on Fortune.com!

These include industry lists:

  • Finance
  • Healthcare
  • Technology
  • Manufacturing

As well as Best Workplaces for:

  • Women
  • Diversity
  • Millennials
  • ...

...the list of lists goes on and is growing even more in 2016!

The great news is that all of these lists mean more rich data about the Best Workplaces for you to obtain benchmarks through our new reporting packages. By making your one single application you now become eligible for all of these lists, without any additional submission required.

Size Categories Have Changed

Now: Small = 10–99 employees, and Medium = 100-999

This change reflects market categories better. As you can see from the orange area in the graph below, nearly 25% of the American workforce are in companies with 10-99 employees. Whereas 20% of the American workforce are in our newly defined ‘Medium' category.

Also, in the teal area you can see the volume of companies who are in the Small category. It is our goal to help create a great workplace for all.
